POETRY & PROSE
LIGHT
DARK
As I look at light
with the night
behind me,
mellow sky,
gradual sea,
the moon cowers
slowly,
stealthily.
Sun flakes fall,
fresh & crispy,
butterflies flutter,
red, orangy.
The sands spring,
filled with zing,
make promises
happy,
sanguine.
Doves coo,
Roses too,
switch from white
to xanthous,
then blue.
The stars hide,
slyly invite,
incite,
to indite.
A little away,
beneath the tide,
green
& golden
jellyfish bide.
Between the two
carnations few
lend their purple,
pinky hue.
As light
fades
& brings in
the night,
aureate sky,
hazy sea,
a murder of crows
drifts, flows.
The music plays on,
church bells ring,
into the darkness
fireflies sing.
